Through the ‘STEAM Community Studio’ program at the STEAM Centre in St. Thomas, students consulted with staff at the St Thomas Elgin Local Immigration Partnership to identify which languages are spoken most commonly in the area. This formed the basis of what greetings and flags would be added on the sign. <image:caption>This photo was taken in Victoria Park in downtown London, Ontario, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020. The chalk drawing offers a hint of how arts & culture projects may need to move outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic to allow for physical distancing. This presents a challenge — and an opportunity — for artists and municipalities. Photo by Andrew Gunn, young & free press</image:caption>

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we may not see scenes like this for a while. The organizers of Home County cancelled the event for 2020 with hopes to return in 2021. Other major London events have been cancelled, too, including TD Sunfest and Start.ca Rocks the Park. Photo by Andrew Gunn, young & free press</image:caption>

Thousands of Temporary Foreign Workers come to Norfolk County every year to work on farms, and add a distinctive energy to downtown Simcoe on Thursday and Friday nights during the growing season. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused considerable challenges for the agriculture sector, including the issue of how seasonal workers will be quarantined after arriving in Canada and how ‘physical distancing’ will be maintained in on-farm accommodations.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This was a fun night! In October 2019, Andrew Gunn, Maddie King, Alex Popen & Emily Stage of young & free press went to see the Pup concert at the London Music Hall in downtown London — since then, the venue has added an amazing new outdoor sign to promote shows at the venue.</image:caption>
