Downtown Woodstock Mural Project!

Downtown Woodstock Mural Project!

Our team is very excited to be launching a new mural project in collaboration with the Downtown Woodstock BIA! Located at the junction of Highways 401 and 403, Woodstock has been in growth mode for a long time, spurred by the presence of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and several other impressive industrial facilities. In our visits to the city over the years, we have noticed the lovely Museum Square downtown, which serves as a great foundation to build a walkable, intriguing core. Adding murals will help to make every trip to the area more fascinating for both residents and visitors. Throughout 2026 and 2027, we will be coordinating locations, assembling support, and working with artists to design new landmark pieces for the area.

For the past six years, we have worked with communities in southern Ontario to add dozens of murals to local streetscapes. The artwork is a key tool to spark new economic and cultural development for cities, towns and rural areas. Our approach is to engage professional muralists to generate designs that build depth and beauty into downtown spaces. In addition to the actual artwork, we find that the process of arranging each piece helps to foster lasting and meaningful community connections. To date, we have curated large-scale murals in London, including at the Grand Theatre, Canada Life Place, and London Children’s Museum, as well as in St. Thomas, Port Stanley, Strathroy and Simcoe. More projects around the region are in the works now!

Follow along in the coming months as we introduce the mural locations and artists. Community members in Woodstock interested in getting in touch can contact Andrew Gunn directly by email at gunn@andrewgunnconsulting.ca – we are always interested in hearing unique stories from each community, as this can inspire ideas and concepts for the artwork.
