Our team is absolutely thrilled to be launching a new mural project in collaboration with the Downtown Strathroy BIA! Located just west of London, Strathroy has a lovely, walkable core area with perfect opportunities for spectacular outdoor artwork. We have been visiting the community for many years to walk downtown and enjoy the local restaurants, always envisioning how we might add murals to the streetscape in the future – and now, the time has come to make this happen! Throughout 2025 and 2026, we will be coordinating locations, assembling support, and working with artists to design new landmark pieces for the area.
Over the past five years, we have collaborated with communities in southern Ontario to add murals with a total value of well over half a million dollars. More significantly, the artwork is a key tool to spark new economic and cultural development for cities, towns and rural areas. We work with professional mural artists to generate designs that inspire residents and attract visitors. In addition to the actual artwork, we find that the process behind each piece helps to foster lasting and meaningful community connections. To date, we have curated large-scale murals in London, including for the Grand Theatre, Canada Life Place, and London Children’s Museum, as well as in St. Thomas, Port Stanley, Aylmer and Simcoe. More projects around the region are in development now.
Follow along in the coming months as we begin to introduce the mural locations and artists! Community members in Strathroy interested in getting in touch can contact Andrew Gunn directly by email at gunn@andrewgunnconsulting.ca – we are always interested in hearing unique stories from the area, as this can inspire ideas and concepts for the artwork.
